Who we are
Awkuzu Cultural Association USA (ACA) is a duly registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. Since its founding, ACA has evolved into a strong, community-focused association committed to preserving Awkuzu culture, supporting our people at home and abroad, and fostering unity among Awkuzu indigenes living in the United States. Over the years, ACA has been blessed with visionary leaders whose dedication and selfless contributions helped shape the organization into what it is today. Our immediate past president, High Chief Dr. Uchenna Chira, successfully steered ACA through a transformative era before handing over leadership to the current president, Chief Dr. Obum Billy Okoye.
Our Impact
ACA has consistently delivered charitable projects both in our hometown of Awkuzu and within our host communities in the United States. Some of our notable contributions include: Sponsorship of clean drinking water at Eke Atta, Awkuzu Furnishing of the town’s first-ever public library Provision of palliatives during the COVID-19 pandemic to all wards in Awkuzu Delivery of hospital equipment and infrastructural support to Awkuzu Maternity Fencing of the Awkuzu Maternity and installation of security gates Donation and full equipment of the ACA Imaging Center at the Comprehensive Medical Center, Awkuzu—including an X-ray machine, incubators, and a standby generator Construction of a 2.2-kilometer perimeter fence around Awkuzu Community Secondary School, including a rear easement gate These projects reflect our unwavering commitment to community development, healthcare improvement, education, and cultural preservation.

Our Activities
ACA hosts vibrant annual conventions where members from across the world gather to celebrate unity, culture, and fellowship. Our most recent convention was successfully held in Columbus, Ohio, bringing together Awkuzu sons and daughters from all walks of life. Our commitment to the future generation is strong. We formally established the Awkuzu Future Generation (AFG)—the youth wing of the association—to ensure that our children and young adults grow up understanding, appreciating, and carrying forward the rich cultural heritage passed down to us.
